Successful Competition Day!

Winners of Burger Battle, Creative Cakes, and Mocktail Madness

Sizzle, sweet, and fusion! The largest Ohio ProStart competition in history - Burger Battle, Creative Cakes – Décor & Baker’s Edition, and Mocktails competition was held on October 28, which included almost 200 students. We will be adding all event photos to the educator portal soon. A total of 40+ industry judges came from across the state of Ohio to mentor the next generation of the hospitality workforce. By the numbers, 35 Burger Battle teams, 22 Creative Cakes Décor, 25 Creative Cakes Baker’s Edition - Tasting, and 22 entries for the first-ever Mocktails competition. Creative Cakes Winners:

1st place– Apollo Career Center– Rilee Jarles and Audrey Long.

2nd Place & People's Choice award– Lorain High School– Cileigh Gray and Leiloni Dolinski.

For Creative Cakes Bakers Edition:

1st place– VSCTC Sentinel–Sofia Arreola.

2nd Place – VSCTC Sentinel–Jovey Seville.

Mocktail Madness

1st Place– VSCTC Sentinel–Kya Martinez.

2nd Place–Apollo Career Center–Vernon Hines.

Burger Battle Winners

1st place – Team 27 – South-Western Career Academy, Mareli Cruz and Ashley Gonzalez.

2nd place – Team 33 – Penta Career Center, Clint LaGesse, Ashley Helvy.

3rd Place – Team 21 – VSCTC Sentinel, Jovey Seville, Kya Martinez.
