Registrations for our Virtual Gingerbread Bash Competition Are Open - and it's FREE!


Wind down before the holiday with this fun and simple competition. Create any structure out of your homemade gingerbread recipe. Submissions will be accepted from December 1st through January 9th. Only 2 Schools have registered to compete so far: Stow Munroe and Tri-County Career Center. All needed competition documents (rules, score sheets, and example recipe) as well as event registration are available via the Educator Portal here. Password: 2025*ProStart


CTSO Community Service Events Due During December!


If you are enrolled in the Ohio Hospitailty CTSO, December is Community Service month. You are required to execute a community service event during the month. If you need ideas, please consult the guidebook HERE. When you are ready to submit your community service event, please do so HERE. Check out the schools below that have conducted thier community service projects for ideas!


David H Ponitz CTC Culinary Seniors prepared a "Thanks for giving" meal for the Dream Big Foundation and served it to 75 guests. The meal consisted of Turkey with Gravy, Glazed Ham, Candied Yams, Green beans, Stuffing, and Sweet Potato Cornbread.

Wayne County Schools Career Center had a Community Tailgating Event. They made a large variety of food and beverages for the community; it was donations only for the students. It was a great event, feeding over 150 people in the community.

Lorain High School knocked it out of the park this month, doing two community service events for the month of November. The first event was making/serving cookies, pastries, and beverages for Veterans' Day. Their school hosts an assembly and invites local veterans from the community to the event during the school day. They also made/served cookies and beverages for the National Honor Society.

Tri-County Career Center made food boxes for students in need, including items from a food drive, as well as extras from thier annual pie, roll, and sides sale. They also made muffins as a thank you to all of the school staff for American Education Week.

South Western Career Academy had 30 culinary students, along with students from the Franklin Heights football team and JROTC, perform Falcon Feed; an event where they prepared, portioned, and served 2142 hot meals to thier community the evening of Thanksgiving. Students made lasagna with garlic bread and roasted turkey with mashed potatoes and corn. People needing a hot meal were given the choice of what meal they preferred, and could take as many meals as needed. Guests were also given a bag of groceries!

The following schools still need to submit thier community service project for November: Columbus Downtown, C-Tec, Dater, Ehove, Lancaster, Penta, and Vantage. This is a requirement of the CTSO. Please submit before the end of the month, and begin brainstorming ideas for your December Community Service Projects.


Scholarship Application For Students is Open!


Free money for your student's education! We have ZERO applications. Please have your students fill out the Ohio Hospitality Scholarship Application HERE.

Some scholarships require a COA, while many do not.


Invitational Registration is Now Open!


Register before December 19 to select your competition time. Times will be selected in the order that registrations are received. The rules and registration are posted in the Educator Portal HERE.

Let's get Cheesy! Mac & Cheese is back with a new twist!


See who will prepare the tastiest mac in Ohio. The Ohio ProStart and Ohio Hospitality CTSO Mac & Cheese Competition, hosted by The American Dairy Association and The Hilton Columbus Downtown, is returning with a new twist! The initial competition will be held virtually, and the top 3 teams will move on to compete LIVE at the Ohio Prostart Invitational on March 10th. Only One School has signed up: Tri-County Career Center. A minimum of 10 teams must be registered to move forward with the competition. Rules and registration are located in the educator portal here!
